Brightest Star are one of our longest running clients having begun working with them all the way back in 2015.

When Xtensive launched back in 2008, it was with the aim to create fantastic looking websites with a personal touch. You see, we care about you and your business – we want to see you succeed and we take a personal interest in ensuring we do the very best work for you. And that has certainly been the case with Brightest Star.

Founded by Arlene Smith, Brightest Star is a registered charity founded in March 2013 to provide support to those suffering the loss of their child or sibling. Having suffered the loss of her son Jack just before Christmas, Arlene desperately wanted to engage with people who had gone through something similar for support but found that there was a severe lack of support available. Not wanting anyone to go through such a horrific experience alone every again or to face the challenges that she did, Brightest Star was born.

We were connected with Brightest Star by another business in our building who were doing charity collections for them. While Brightest Star already had a website, it was lacking a lot of features and an ability to be easily updated. Upon meeting with Arlene and hearing her story, we wanted to do everything that we could to help her succeed.

We also supported Brightest Star at a number of fundraising events including the Kiltwalk, Sportsman’s Dinners and Ladies Lunches to name a few.

The first website for Brightest Star launched in 2015 on Joomla and showcased everything that Brightest Star had to offer and their goals for the future including a support transport ambulance, a retreat where those grieving can go for support and memory boxes. We continued to provide website support for Arlene post-live as well as offer advice on where the website could grow. This included a number of website design refreshes to keep the website modern and up-to-date.

Fast forward to today, 10 years since we began our journey with Brightest Star and it’s amazing to see how far they have come. With the launch of a brand new website earlier this year, you can see how their ‘aims’ have now become ‘services’ having successfully done what they set out to do – and more. Along with their original aims of a support transport ambulance, a retreat and memory boxes, they now also offer workshops, bereaved family events, teddy bears and so much more.

We are incredibly proud to see how far Brightest Star has come and we are glad that our support over the years has played a small part in their success. If you’re a charity and looking for a website, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

If you are suffering the loss of a child or sibling and are looking for support or would like to fundraise for them, please visit brighteststar.org.uk.
